Just outside Kinshasa and close to the Bonobo Sanctuary is a corner of the equatorial forest surrounding a beautiful lake called Ma Vallée, complete with a tavern on its banks. A lovely place to lull away the heat of Africa, our group of UN staffers hiked the 6 kilometer trail that surrounds the lake. Great day, followed by a great cookout.
