Greece & The Isles
So, after studying in Leipzig, Germany for three months, my friend Thomas and I decided to hook up and travel to some place exotic -- Greece. Having never been to that neck of the woods before, I jumped at the chance and flew through Italy to meet my friend in Athens, Greece, back in the summer of 2001.
We spent several glorious days wandering the narrow streets of Athens before we rented a car and drove north to Delphi and the eastward to the Peloponnesian city of Nafpilo. From there were ferried seaward, arriving in the Volcanic city of Santorni -- a beautiful place of white-washed house and high cliffs. After trekking up the volcano, it was off to the island city of Mykonos. Known for its nightlife, we soaked up the sun prior to our excursions out into the discos and bars the village offered. Oh what a time!
